The first article of the Code of Medical Ethics features that:

“"The practice of medicine is a vocation. The doctor aims to maintain, improve and restore the physical, spiritual and mental health and the relief of pain"“

The doctor shall ensure the development of relationships of mutual trust and respect between himself and the patient. He shall communicate with the patient, listen to his problems and concerns, treat him with respect and understanding, inform him clearly and honestly and respect his opinions, dignity and privacy. Medical practice is the ultimate expression of the fusion of medical knowledge, medical experience and medical skills.
